Edward and Kaitlyn's Engagement Session at Fort Worth Botanical Gardens

Edward and Kaitlyn’s surprise proposal went so well that I knew we would have an amazing engagement photo session at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. This engagement session happened the day after the surprise proposal, so they were still glowing from ear to ear.

These two are college students at Liberty University in Virginia. Edward had plans to study abroad and visit family for most of the summer, while Kaitlyn’s summer plans included working full time here in the DFW metroplex and wedding planning in her free time. So, their proposal and engagement session had to happen pretty quickly so that Edward could fulfill his school requirements on time.

Our goal for the session was to capture these two in an authentic way, all while having fun! In typical Texas fashion, it turned out to be a hot, humid day in May, but none of us minded the heat because the photos we were capturing were exactly the vibe they wanted.

Kaitlyn and Edward were so agreeable to any of my posing or prompt suggestions. Their flexibility and determination to live in the beauty of the moment made my heart happy! They had plenty of authentic moments of romance, from broad smiles to subtle, loving glances.

Even though they were too in love to notice the heat, I made sure to take it into account. Nothing is worse than looking sweaty in a professional photo, so we made sure to take the fancier portraits at the beginning of the session.

We really took full advantage of the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens! We explored all over to make sure that the couple had a variety of different backgrounds for their gallery, which was chock-full of gorgeous images for them to choose from.

Wardrobe is another thing that helps take your gallery to the next level. Kaitlyn and Edward chose three cute outfits, from their school shirts to casual and semi-formal! I loved that they chose a pink and green theme and alternated colors for their casual and semi-formal outfits. That way, their gallery still looks cohesive!

If you can’t get enough of this adorable couple, don’t forget to check out Edward and Kaitlyn’s surprise proposal photos at Air Field Falls! I would love the chance to document your love story as well, so contact me for more information! I would love to see what we can do to create the engagement photos of your dreams.

Congratulations, Edward and Kaitlyn! I’m so excited for you both as you begin taking these exciting steps toward marriage. I can’t wait to document more of your love story!

Stayed tuned for Kaitlyn’s bridal portrait session next month!
