Cook Family Photos in Keller, Texas
It was a very warm, sunny day in August when I met the Cook family at a “still green” tree-lined creek for their family photos! For those of you who live in North Texas, you know how hard it is to find green grass in August around here!
Devona contacted me because she wanted to update their family photos while everyone was together. She and Chris have three beautiful adult daughters who were visiting home at the time, and she didn’t want to miss the opportunity!
Devona had a short list of posed shots that she wanted, so we made sure to get those. When I asked her what her main goal for the session was, she replied, “Just a fun session to capture our family.”
It was easy to accomplish her vision because the entire group was so easy to work with! They showed up in a wonderful mood, and they truly enjoyed being together. Natural smiles were a breeze!
The girls brought their significant others, too. We made sure to get individual shots of each couple, and then some of just the girls, and then just the guys!
We wanted a location that was close to home. Because of the muggy summer heat, we knew that the session was going to be fairly short, so it made sense to pick this beautiful spot nestled between two neighborhoods.
It was only a few miles away from their own neighborhood, so it was perfect! The only challenge was making it look like they were not surrounded by brick houses.
With a little bit of strategic posing and camera angles, you’d never know that this session was taken in the middle of a neighborhood! I also used a full-sized reflector on the close-up shots to help prevent any green color casts on their skin.
Everyone exuded joy and love towards one another, and I knew we would be a great fit (and friends) right away!
