Family Session at Keller Pointe

Family posing in front of bridge for family photos.

The Derrick Family are amazing repeat clients of mine. I had a blast taking Emma’s senior photos a few years ago, and the family liked them so much that they booked me for a family session, too!

We pulled out all the stops for this session, and I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out. Right off the bat, amazing job, you guys!!

The mom, Misty, had her work cut out for her. A huge part of the battle, especially for a family with adult children, is making sure everyone’s schedule matches up. It’s not easy, but Misty did it!

Because Mom made a huge effort to get everyone together now, the entire family can enjoy these photos for forever and a day. It’s so worth it in the end!

Our session took place at Keller Pointe in Keller, Texas. Let me tell you, this location offers a wide array of photographic backgrounds. I’m always impressed with the gorgeous foliage of the area, and today was no different. The place is huge, complete with miles of trails and even a water park!

The leaves were turning a festive bright yellow, which gave an extra boost of color to the background. We also found a cool bridge to pose the family on! One challenge we did face was avoiding other people. The park was pretty busy, but we made do with creative angles.

The Derrick Family were full of non-stop laughs. It didn’t take much to get them grinning, and after that, the boys cracked joke after joke. No cringy “cheese” smiles here!!

Baby Isla was totally the star of the show. Everyone doted on her, making sure that she was comfortable and happy the entire time. I say it was a huge success!

Before the session, Misty and I worked together to plan a shot list, and then we followed our plan day-of. This handy tool helped to keep us on track so we didn’t miss any important photos. We took couples, individual portraits, some of just the guys, and some of the girls, just to name a few.

Y’all are a hoot and a half! This family session was one of the best ever. Thanks for choosing me as your family photographer, and I hope to work with you again soon! If you’re looking for a photographer to book a family session, don’t hesitate to contact me! And don’t forget to check out Emma’s senior photos from Grapevine Botanical Gardens here!
