A Young Family Session in the Willow Trees

It’s so so so important that growing families capture these fleeting days in pictures. As a mom myself, I know how quickly the time passes. I was so proud of Grace and Shawn for making the effort to have professional portraits taken of their family. It can be a Herculean effort to get everything planned and everyone prepped for such an event. We chose a location close to home so they could be there and back home in time for snacks and a morning nap!

We met at a pretty little park at 8am since that’s when the kids were usually at their best, well-rested and ready to take on the day! The morning light was extra perfect this morning, and even though the temperature would be soaring on this August day soon enough, we worked quickly and captured some sweet memories for sure. The two year old gave us a great workout and kept the energy flowing!

Sure enough, the kids were full of super sweet smiles and loads of energy from the moment they arrived. With lots of hugs and tickles and silly jokes, our time together was so much fun. I love using bubbles in my sessions because it adds an element of intrigue and surprise, and with light like we had, they photographed beautifully. The six month old tried his best to catch one each time it floated by.

So, as you’ll see, family pictures can be so much fun and don’t have to take up all your day. This session only took about 45 minutes and the parents now have a full gallery of beautiful images of their precious family.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I’d love to photograph you and your family as well. Let’s chat! Take a look around my website for more samples of my work. I hope to hear from you soon.
